Alternate Universe Skyril Oblivion

NAME: Scarlet Sky Hope

AGE: 17

GENDER: Female

HAIR COLOR: Flaming red, past the shoulders, usually up in a pony tail
or poofing out of a hat, especially fedoras or tophats or those hats
golfers wear.

HEIGHT: Not short not tall? 5.8?

WEIGHT: Relative?

PERSONALITY: Gotta love the sarcasm, truthful to a fault, upbeat,
brave, but lets the guys be gentlemanly and go first because she gets
kick out of it.

WEARS: A lot of indigo to spite the scientists who declare it absent in
the rainbow. A lot of sleek [but comfortable and with enough room to
move around in a fight] dresses and skirts, the occasional pair of
jeans on a lazy day, blouses, fingerless gloves.

NATIONALITY AND ACCENT: Half Australian, half Irish. Lived half the
year in each place, but developed more of an Aussy accent because she talked to more Aussy mages than anybody in Ireland

HISTORY: Her mother was hamster and her father smelled of elderberries.

Ok, no, not really. She forced me to put that in there ~points at
Scarlet who is laughing hysterically in the background~

Moving on... Scarlet was raised by her brother, who was an elemental.
She never knew her parents, as they died in a fire a year after she was
born. Her brother, whose taken name WAS actually John Smith, was twenty
when his parents died. He took Scarlet in and was practically her
father, although she only got to see him every now and then. In the
beginning years, he took off of work completely, having saved extra
money from his job. When Scar turned five, he left for a year, and she
stayed either with her mortal aunt Matilda in Ireland or Israel Elysium at his
manor in Australia.

John's job being Assassinations, he kept it secret from her, but
taught her magic and how to protect herself. She always preferred the
odd tricks and comical schemes, and picked up more as an adapt then an
elemental. She especially knew how to sneak around well, and at fifteen
slipped into his secret room and discovered his profession. At first, she was horrified, but she quickly got over it as she loves her brother too much. He found out someone broke in and discussed it with her, and they came to the agreement that nothing would change.

Currently, she lives on her own as a rogue spy for whichever sanctuary she's nearest too at the time. Or occasionally she's hired for an odd investigation here and there, especially when the client requires confidentiality. She tries to only take honest jobs though, and has been known to return the stipend she was given if she discovers something she doesn't like or doesn't want to be involved in.
When in Australia, she'll often stay at Elysium Asylum. Sometimes she likes to travel with Jericho Matteus on the Albatross. Once, she stayed on his island Serenity for a whole month when an unpleasant enemy assassin was trying to get to her brother through her. John Smith took care of him, however.

When in Ireland, Scarlet stays with her brother at his house, and she never fails to drop in entirely unexpectedly on Kallista Pendragon, whom she met one night at a bowling alley.

Takes the occasional trip to America where sometimes does business with the sanctuary, but usually to visit Nights Raven, who is her archery rival and friend.

FAMILY: Her mortal aunt Matilda, and her brother John Smith are her only surviving relatives she knows about

POWER: Invisibility is the Scarlet's main power. No, she doesn't have to be naked. She only uses it on rare occasions, however, preferring instead to use her own skills to sneak around. She can turn someone else invisible if she's touching him, and she wants him to be invisible. Other odd tricks are Withstand for doors and windows, the ability to unlock things [doors, windows, boxes, pretty much anything with a lock on it] with magic, very small illusions [like making a one dollar bill look like a one hundred dollar bill].

FAVORITE WEAPONS: Her bow, Firefly, and her mallet,Cornelius [nick named PopCorn]

OTHER SKILLS: Very good at sneaking around. Great with magic tricks the mortals use.

FRIENDS: A mortal named Isaac whom she went to school with in Ireland, an Australian sanctuary agent named Steve Buchanan, Israel Elysium, Jericho Matteus, Kallista Pendragon, Nights Raven, Skylara Wolfsbane, Bridget Whiplash, some other residents of Elysium Asylum, Raphael Pendragon.

ENEMY'S: No one in particular.

DISLIKES: Sunlight, it's bad for sneaking around in. Snipers are evil. Staircases are evil.

LIKES: Goofing around, rain, snow, sleet, likes a lot of things in general that most other people wouldn't.

OTHER: The Count of Monte Christo and Pride and Prejudice are tied as Scarlet's favorite movies. Firefly, Pushing Daisies, Doctor Who, and BBC Sherlock are her favorite shows. Loves reading fiction.

ADDRESS: Nothing specific.

MODE OF TRANSPORTATION: When she's not traveling with Jericho Matteus, she tends to take a boat, especially fancy cruises she can sneak onto with her bow and mallet. On land, Evanescence, her motorcycle.

Raphael Pendragon (AU)

NAME: Raphael Pendragon, Raff for short.

AGE: 121 but looks to be in his 20’s to early 30’s.

HAIR: Black, straight. Has a small handlebar moustache.

EYE COLOR:  Lavender Blue

HEIGHT:  5ft11

WEIGHT: average weight. Is broad shouldered and fit but not overly muscular.

PERSONALITY: He has natural charisma but amplifies it when in front of an audience. He literally leaves them spellbound and mesmerized. He is confident and cunning.

WEARS: Expensive suites in the 1920’s style.

NATIONALITY AND ACCENT:  He is of Romanian decent belonging to a nomadic group of gypsies. He can mimic every accent easily but as none on his own.

FAMILY & HISTORY: Was born to Raphaela and Vasile Pendragon in 1891.  His mother is a gypsy princess. His father is from a power family in the performing arts background. Both sides are steeped in magic. Raphaela grew restless after spending too much time in one place and left her family to be with the gypsies once more.

Vasile focused his career mostly as a magician and taught his son all he knew. But Raphaela longed for her son and spirited him away one night at the age of ten.

Raff got another kind of education then in his travels. Far and wide the gypsies traveled everywhere. Raff’s natural magic then began to emerge. They went to places like Spain, Egypt, China, Japan, India, and everywhere in between performing for magic and mortal towns alike. Raff showed an interest in the martial arts as well as magic. His powers are focused on allowing him to learn different martial arts at a single glance. He was taught boxing and hand to hand combat from a girl his age named Blair Mahoney. Both became best friends as he discovered that she too had a background in magic. They have been close ever since they first met.

From his gypsy grandmother Latisha he learned how to draw and paint. His magic flowed through his artwork.  *See below to get more details.*

However his father caught up to them in Italy and had a fierce augment with his wife. Tempers flared and a huge feud erupted between Raphaela and Vasile’s clans.

Tired of being used as a tool by his parents to provoke each other, Raff left home at age seventeen with his magic art supplies. His travels took him many places that he would not have had with either his mother or father. He used his charm to pose as a son of some obscure nonexistent Duke and finished his education in a first rate University in England.

For a period he lived as a normal privileged man might live, making money and becoming fairly wealthy. He visited his parents from time to time, knowing they loved each other yet still insisted on fighting one another, sabotaging each other’s careers when they could. For his peace of mind he lets them to it and stays as clear as long as no physical harm comes to them or those around them.

In 1936 he faked his own death. He then left behind the life he had briefly led with the mortals and traveled with a circus as a cover. During that time he discovered he had a natural magical ability to speak to animals, both domestic and wild alike.

In the mid 1940’s he decided to start his own circus. Hiding out in the basement of one of his old properties, he spent the next decade building everything by hand, pouring his magic into every big and little detail. From the tiniest piece of metal to a wooden plank, he forge it all, hammered, sawed, sewed, painted, and put together the train and the tents that would house him and his circus family.  Nothing can ever sabotage the train or wreck it. It will never break down or rust or peel or e infected with termites or other pests.

With care he used his secret contacts to put together a trustworthy crew who could put on a show, do their duties without malice or cruelty to one another or the animals, and be loyal to him.

During his travels with the circus he follows a certain routine. He goes on ahead of the train as they near a town and scouts for an audience. He also steals from wealthy jerks who take pleasure in screwing other people over. He then gives the money to the needy.

Recently he has found a friend, a young magical Colossal Squid who he has taken up the task of protecting, Dolores Ambrosius

POWERS: Has the ability to fight in many different styles of martial arts. Is proficient in all weaponry from guns to swords. Prefers to use his fists.

OTHER SKILLS: He is able to instantly create these works of art that are lifelike. He can walk through these painting to get away from danger if he needs too. He can also paint from memory a place he has been too and then walk into it as if stepping through a window. He has a special painting where he can visit with Dolores whenever he needs too. Often he likes to read her stories and spend time with her.

FRIENDS: Dolores Ambrosius, Arcturus Fracture, Jericho Matteus, Scarlet Sky Hope, Blair Mahoney. (and of course others who still yet have to turn in their AU OC’s) *and the people who Kal Pendragon is friends with.*

ENEMIES: Bullies, poachers, animal and child abusers, condescending people, patronizing people, overbearing people, stuffy full of themselves people, snobs, fake people, terrorists, people who take advantage of others or use the system badly.

HATES: Bullies, poachers, animal and child abusers, condescending people, patronizing people, overbearing people, stuffy full of themselves people, snobs, fake people, terrorists, people who take advantage of others or use the system badly.

LIKES: veggies with melted cheese on top, nature, festivals, children, animals, well tailored suits, music. Loves beautiful women. *waggles eyebrows* He is a perfect gentleman though. (even to the ugly ones: and I can say that cause I am one of the ugly ones.) ;P

ADDRESS: Where ever his next stop on the Wild Magical Emporium Circus Express is.

JOB: Ringman for the circus. Has taken over the roles as Strongman, the Lion Tamer, and as a Trapeze Artist on occasion as needed.

MODE OF TRANSPORTATION: Wild Magical Emporium Express, his train that he made himself.

NEVER SEEN WITHOUT:  His hat, whether it is a Panama, Fedora, or a top hat, he is always wearing one. (Except in fist fights)

IN FIVE WORDS: Cunning, Debonair, Fighter, Protector, Benevolent

First of all: I think the idea for AU OC’s is an epic idea. I remember my first creation of Israel *shudder* and I’ll be keeping most of those details here.

Second of all: Mar, you said 'Maybe EA could be a boat!' and I was like ' :D That's an epic idea!' and then I reread it, just now, and saw that you said 'preferably not, tho...'

Sorry... ;P

NAME: (See, when I first made Israel, his name was, quite boringly, ‘Israel Matteus’. But, to keep this entire thing a bit different, I shall now reuse the name ‘Jericho’ because it’s like...awesome...)

Jericho Matteus

AGE: 163, looks 24
HAIR: Dark, chocolate brown hair. Bushy and wavy/curly. His face is always clean-shaven.
EYE COLOR: Dark blue.
HEIGHT: After all these years, I still suck with height and weight measurements. Uhhhh...six foot? Is that high enough? >.<
WEIGHT: ...75 kg? Like Israel; Not thin nor fat and not incredibly well-built. Although, Jericho is much more agile than Israel is.
PERSONALITY: Jericho is reserved and incredibly focused at the best of times, and loud and imprecise at the worst. He is kind-hearted, and likes taking on the responsibility of a Captain, or the man in charge.
WEARS: Black trench-coat, black jeans, plain, grey t-shirt.
NATIONALITY AND ACCENT: Jericho is Australian, hailing from Sydney.
HISTORY: Jericho was born of magical parents, who raised him well. For the first twenty-five years of his life, Jericho worked with his father, a sailor, on the boats in Circular Quay, Sydney. He will never forget the skills that his father taught him during those years. His mother, on the other hand, was the kind that went out for action and adventure. She was a hired gun and one of the best shots in the industry. She taught Jericho how to handle a gun, and how to keep it and clean it.
She was shot and killed in a job she had been hired to take when Jericho was 30. His father spiralled into depression and passed away ten years later.
In their honour, Jericho began to build the Albatross from the wreck of an out-of-service Galleon. When a ship carrying the Antikythera was wrecked in 1901, and Jericho quickly stole the item after hearing a rumour of its power, he began to make huge additions to the Albatross- the large steam engines far below in the hold, and the large wings folded into the side of the ship. Another addition that he added, with the help of many great magical scientists, was a huge Cloaking Sphere, located in the bowels of the ship, alongside the steam engines. Unlike the smaller version, this larger cloaking sphere is constantly shifting and rotating, as it is built out of many parts. Ancient markings crawl all over the surface of the sphere, alive with a glowing energy.
It was later that year that he found Serenity Island and claimed it.
To date, he spends most of his time helping his friends, flying his boat, and save the world.
FAMILY: Jericho’s parents are both deceased. He had a younger sister, but she was killed decades ago. No-one knows how, except him.
POWERS: He is an Adept, and uses a few tricks that he has learnt over the years. One of these tricks is uses some of his power to shoot blue orbs of energy at high speed from the end of his staff (below). He has no power connected to his gun, however.
His main power is the ability to slow down time. It drains himself so fast, however, that he can only hold it up for periods of about twenty seconds or so at a time. And after each time he uses that power, he has to recuperate for a bit before he slows down time again.
FAVORITE WEAPONS: Jericho uses two weapons. One of them is a telescopic staff, about a foot long when shortened and six foot when fully extended. On the end of the rod is an ornament of silver, in the shape of a bird in flight. The bird is an Australian Magpie, although it is hard to identify this unless you are close to the staff and can see the detailed patches moulded into the statuette. The silver is not pure, rather an alloy in an attempt to make it stronger. This allows for the bashing of skulls with the end of the staff. The staff sits in a modified leather armpit-holster, hanging from underneath his left armpit.
As mentioned above, he can shoot blue energy from the staff, no matter whether the staff is collapsed or fully extended. There is no switch or trigger for this.
The other weapon he uses is a lever action, Model 1887 sawn-off shotgun. (This is the gun I first gave Israel, before I chose his double-barrel shotgun.) The gun is strapped to his upper thigh so it can be easily unholstered. There is nothing special about the gun, and it shoots normal buckshot rounds.

(^the shotgun^)
OTHER SKILLS: Unlike Israel, Jericho is actually fit. He is agile from years of scaling buildings and ship masts alike.
FRIENDS: (I’m just going to c+p the friend list on Israel’s bio, and it can be updated later if need be)
Kallista Pendragon, Aquila Felis, Nicolette Croga, Jodi Harte, Skylara Wolfbane, Bridget Whiplash, Skyril Oblivion, Mary Hiashi, Leo Sparks, Skulduggery Pleasant, Valkyrie Cain, China Sorrows, Fletcher Renn, Finbar Wrong, Kenspeckle Grouse, Tanith Low, Ghastly Bespoke.

(I just realised, that because of Jericho living in an AU, he probably won’t know half of these people. All their names and personalities will be different...)

ENEMIES: Jericho makes enemies like he makes friends. He introduces himself, tries to shoot them, tries to arrest them, and then tries to be their friend. If the person makes it through to the third round, then chances are that they are going to have a long friendship.
HATES: The story of ‘Titanic’. Not only because he thinks the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio was possibly the worst chick flick ever made, but also because he secretly fears that there’s an iceberg out there somewhere, just waiting for him to crash into it. And with every passing day, the iceberg grows stronger...
(Personally, he’s pro-Global Warming.)
Oh, yeah. And he hates clearing the bottom of his ship from Faeries.
LIKES: Flying aboard his ship. Sailing. Doing...Captain-y things. Rooftop chases. High-rise sky-scrapers.
ADDRESS: Somewhere in the Tasman Sea, between New Zealand and the South-East point of Australia. He lives on an island high above the clouds, there, suspended by an unknown magic. He found the island sometime in 1901 and ever-so-slowly claimed it as his own, making sure he wasn’t about to set off some ancient curse that would end the world. Over the next hundred years he set to work creating a sky-dock for his boat, and a homey little cottage set just inland of the small island. Any of his friends are welcome to live aboard his boat or on the island, and he has a dozen temporary tents stashed in one of his cupboards. For any permanent residents, he helps them build small houses nearby to his.
The island in itself if a wonder of fresh-water lakes and lush plant life. The island is the most beautiful place he’s ever known, and he regrets that he doesn’t get to spend much time there. There are cascading waterfalls and a towering mountain and even a small pine forest abundant with magical and mortal animals alike. It is one of the great mysteries to him where the island even came from, or how the animals live there, or how the fresh water never runs out... But Jericho’s never been one for great mysteries. It’s become his home, his personal sanctuary- his very own slice of serenity. And that’s what he ended up calling it- Serenity Island.
JOB: Jericho works freelance. He finds himself being brought into the fights of his friends and has no choice but to help them. In the past he has worked with Sanctuaries all over the world and will no doubt continue to.
MODE OF TRANSPORTATION: For long-distance travel, he uses his boat, the Albatross, which he will sail in normally until he is too far out to sea for mortal eyes to follow. He then initiates the Antikythera Mechanism, an ancient object the mortals found and labelled as a way of calculating astronomical positions. However, the truth is that –with some focused magic right into the centre of the deteriorating object- it can actually lessen the gravity of any given area. After a month of fiddling, Jericho managed to get the Antikythera Mechanism’s gravity-changing powers to focus on his boat. Therefore, once he places his palm on the ancient artefact and diverts some of his magic directly into it, the ship is spectacularly lifted right out of the water. Then, large fan-like ‘wings’ unfold from the sides of the boat and are powered by steam to propel the ship through the air. A larger ‘wing’ also extends from the end of the massive rudder to help steer. The ship is not, however, very fast.
For regular travel on land, he uses a dusty Toyota Ute.
NOTES: He’s not an alcoholic. That’s right. The strongest he’s ever enjoyed has been the occasional glass of wine.
NEVER SEEN WITHOUT: His staff, his black trenchcoat.
IN FIVE WORDS: Holy crap, a flying boat!
